Strong to severe thunderstorms are moving through mid-Missouri this afternoon, producing locally heavy rainfall amounts, moderately sized hail, and strong winds gusting over 60 miles per hour.

The main squall line is pushing through Jefferson City and the U.S. 54 corridor right now, and there have been reports of power lines and trees down in Cole County.

The main threats with today's weather will be primariliy focused on strong, damaging winds and localized flooding. Some areas may recieve 2 inches or more of rain by the end of the day. Brief areas of circulation may be possible on the leading edge of the line of cells.

A tornado watch is in effect until 8:00 p.m. for Audrain, Boone, Callaway, Camden, Cole, Gasconade, Maries, Miller, Moniteau, Morgan, Montgomery, Osage, Phelps, and Pulaski counties.
