Low pressure is advancing through the southwestern portions of the US and bringing the threat of rain and snow to part of the Show-Me State for Tuesday night and Wednesday morning.  Moisture will begin to creep into Missouri Tuesday afternoon as clouds increase throughout the day.  Temperatures will be well above freezing as rain chances pick up in the evening and nighttime hours.  As temperatures fall, a rain and snow mix will be possible for southern Missouri and the southern counties in Mid-Missouri.  If the lower atmosphere and ground can get cold enough, parts of the area may see minor snow accumulations (a dusting to possibly half an inch) for Wednesday morning.

Any snow that does make it to the ground will not last long. With clearing skies on Wednesday, temperatures will reach the 50s with lots of sunshine.  Temperatures will remain above normal until Friday.
