Two women and a man armed with handguns robbed two men.

COLUMBIA, MO. -- Plans for prostitution went south when two women robbed the two men they had met at the Econo Lodge Motel. A man armed with handguns also participated in the robbery.

Three people – 39-year-old Samuel Haley, 21-year-old Lashanda Marine and 24-year-old Whitney McKee – were later arrested.

Columbia police officers had been dispatched to room 109 at the motel, which is located at 900 I-70 Drive Southwest, just after midnight Wednesday.

The two men told authorities they called and planned to meet the woman at the room for prostitution. As the women were leaving, the gunman came in and demanded money and property. The two men said all three participated in the robbery.

An officer later found a vehicle matching the suspect car description at 2939 Leeway Drive. Haley, Marine and McKee were taken into custody after several hours of trying to get them to come out of the address.

The three made incriminating statements and were arrested for robbery in the first degree.
