Four children, ages 2 to 11, went to Children's Services after a meth lab was discovered by Boone County deputies.

Three people were arrested when SWAT and drug unit officers served a search warrant at 22720 North Route V (south of Sturgeon) at about 8 a.m. Friday. A methamphetamine lab, stolen property that included a motorcycle and other possible evidence were seized.

Animal Control officers also went to the property to investigate the possible abuse of numerous dogs, horses, chickens and rabbits.

Two residents, 29-year-old Forrest "Daniel" Lyons and his 59-year-old mother, Joyce Y. Lyons, are being held in the Boone County Jail on suspicion of drug and child endangerment charges. The former's bond is set at $27,000 and the latter's is set at $22,500. A third person, Shane L. Skaggs, 33, of Higbee is being held without bond on drug charges and as a parole violator.
