LAKE OF THE OZARKS -- Because of the heavy rains, Ameren UE closed floodgates at the Bagnell Dam in Lake Ozark today to prevent flooding down river.
On Monday the lake was above full-pool, prompting AmerenĀ to open the floodgates to release water.
But after several inches of rain Monday and Tuesday, the U.S. Corps of Engineers asked Ameren to close the gates to not make flooding worse on the Osage River.
Residents at the lake should expect to see higher lake levels and floating debris until the gates are re-opened.
