A man discovered early Wednesday morning at the Boone County Fairgrounds has been charged with burglary and possession of a burglar's tool.

The Boone County Sheriff's Office said an off-duty deputy doing overnight security at the fairgrounds heard suspicious noises inside the Coliseum building.

That's when he found Steven Babcock, dressed in camouflage clothing and carrying a pair of metal shears, which apparently had been used to enter the building.

It's not believed anything had been stolen, but the building is being used this week for a trade show, and contains a large amount of merchandise and farm equipment.
