NEW YORK (AP) — Mark Ingram says he's proud to have filled a void for the Alabama football program by winning the school's first Heisman Trophy.
The sophomore running back appeared Monday on ABC's "Good Morning America." He said it's surprising no Alabama football player had won the Heisman before he claimed it.
Ingram is making the rounds as the Heisman Trophy winner before getting back to work preparing for the national championship game against Texas.
He's also scheduled to appear Monday on the David Letterman show, and he will attend the annual Heisman Memorial Trophy Dinner in Manhattan.
