STORRS, Conn. (AP) — The killer of University of Connecticut football player Jasper Howard is on the loose as police interview witnesses.

UConn police Maj. Ronald Blicher (BLICK'-er) said Monday morning that no arrests have been made and authorities have no suspects in the stabbing early Sunday morning.

Twenty-year-old Howard, of Miami, and another male student were stabbed outside the UConn Student Union, after a pulled fire alarm forced an evacuation during a school-sponsored dance. The other student, who has not been identified, was treated at a local hospital and released.

Blicher says the stabbings stemmed from a dispute between two groups of people, including some who were not students.
