SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - Two area golfers are still alive at the 2010 Missouri Amateur Championship.
Eldon's Matt Miller advanced to the quarterfinals with two wins on Friday. Miller defeated former Helias standout Connor McHenry 3 and 2 before cruising to a 7 and 5 win over David Eddy in the afternoon.
Mizzou freshman Jace Long also moved on to the final eight with a 4 and 2 win over Jeff Woods and a 7 and 5 victory over Patrick Harrell.
Miller and Long will square off in a quarterfinal match on Saturday morning. The winner will play again Saturday afternoon in the semifinal round.
