COLUMBIA, MO. -- Late saturday night the Austin American-Statesman reported the Big 12 Conference has given Missouri and Nebraska a deadline of this Friday to state their intentions on whether they plan on leaving to join the Big Ten Conference.

According to the newspaper, "Nebraska has until 5 p.m. on Friday to tell us what they're going to do," one school official said.  "The same deal for Missouri. They have to tell us they're not going to the Big Ten."

It's also been reported by The Statesmen the deadline could be extended until next Tuesday.  Missouri officials have said there is nothing further they will comment on than they've previously stated.

Coincidentally there is a UM System Board of Curators meeting scheduled to take place in Columbia Thursday and Friday.

Earlier this week there was a report during the Big 12 Conference meetings in Kansas City the Pac-10 Conference might extend an offer to six Big 12 schools to join it's conference.

The six schools are: Texas, Texas A&M, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and either Colorado or Baylor.
