OBERHOFEN, Switzerland (AP) — A ski jumping World Cup event has been rescheduled to take place in Switzerland next week after it was canceled due to lack of snow in the Czech Republic.

The International Ski Federation said Wednesday that the Swiss village of Engelberg will now host three World Cup events from Dec. 18-20.

The opening contest Friday replaces one in the Czech resort of Harrachov, which had been scheduled for Dec. 13. Organizers there said warm weather made it impossible to prepare the hill for competition.

Defending World Cup champion Gregor Schlierenzauer of Austria leads the overall standings ahead of Switzerland's Simon Ammann.
