NEW YORK (AP) — Washington Nationals hitting coach Rick Eckstein has been suspended one game and fined an undisclosed amount for inappropriate actions during a game at Atlanta.

MLB vice president Bob Watson said Eckstein will serve his suspension Wednesday night, when the Nationals conclude their series against the Braves.

Eckstein began yelling from the dugout in the third inning Tuesday night, after Nyjer Morgan was called out on what appeared to be a successful steal of third. Eckstein was ejected and charged onto the field before being restrained by manager Jim Riggleman.

The Nationals went on to lose 8-1, snapping their eight-game winning streak.
