BELLE, MO. -- The Maries County SWAT team searched a home at 807 Highway 28 West near Belle early this morning.
The Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group and the members of the Belle Police Department also assisted with the search warrant. Investigators found controlled substances, including drugs prepared for distribution, and several items of suspected drug paraphernalia.
The Maries County Prosecutor charged Joseph J. Fernandez, 26, of Belle with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Fernandez remains in the Maries County jail on a $50,000 bond.
Donald James Green, 29, of Belle, has been charged with possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Green is wanted out of Jefferson City for parole violations. He is also a wanted suspect out of Kansas City, Missouri, Platte County, Pettis County, and the City of St. James. Green has been evading law enforcement for nearly one and a half years.
Green's bond for those charges was set at $50,000.
One additional suspect was released pending formal charges which are expected to be filed next week.
