Man in van threatens teenage girl

Columbia police are reporting a suspicious incident at Jenne Lane and Brown Station Road.

A female, 16, reported she was walking on Brown Station Road near Jenne Lane when a male in a van slowed and drove along side her.

The male asked if she wanted a ride.

She refused and he kept asking and she kept refusing.

The teenage girl got scared and ran through yards to get away from the suspect until she saw him turn around and go the other way.

The suspect never got out of his van.

The van was described as an older white van with many windows and something on the roof.

The suspect was described as a white male in his 20’s with brown hair, and some hair on his chin area.

Anyone with information this suspicious incident is encouraged to call the police department or CrimeStoppers 875-TIPS.
