Former MU running back Derrick Washington did not appear in court Wednesday, but his attorney was there to enter a plea of not guilty for the one-time tiger football team captain.
Washington faces a charge of deviate sexual assault.
Washington has withdrawn from the university and forfeits his scholarship.
A former university tutor accused Washington of assaulting her.
The athlete also faces domestic assault charges in a separate case involving an ex-girlfriend.
A court hearing in that case is set for next week.

Boone County Prosecutor’s Office released the probable cause statement for Derrick Washington’s domestic assault charges.
In the probable cause statement, the former MU running back's ex-girlfriend told police Washington hit her in the face several times, choked her, and tried to gouge her eyes out by pressing them into her skull.
Police said the woman had physical injuries consistent with her claims.
The alleged victim told police she and Washington had been in a relationship for three years, but it ended last month.
She said Washington physically assaulted her at least seven times throughout their relationship.
Tuesday, prosecutors charged Washington with two counts of third-degree domestic assault.

MU officials said they have no comment on the future of former football player Derrick Washington’s scholarship.
Both the MU Athletic Department and the University of Missouri News Bureau said “no comment” on the issue.
The University kicked him off the team following a deviate sexual assault charge, but said Washington got to keep his scholarship as long as he stays enrolled at Mizzou.
That statement came before new charges were filed Tuesday.

Boone County Assistant Prosecutor Andrea Hayes filed charges against Derrick Washington Tuesday.
Washington was charged with two counts of third degree misdemeanor domestic assault.
Washington was arrested 1:30 a.m. Sunday after his ex-girlfriend accused Washington for hitting her in the face several times.
Washington’s arraignment is scheduled for Monday at 1:30 p.m.
Washington’s arraignment for the sexual assault charges is scheduled for Sept. 23.

COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) -- An ex-girlfriend is accusing former Missouri running back Derrick Washington of hitting her in the face several times before he was arrested a second time for alleged domestic assault.
A Columbia police domestic violence specialist is investigating the latest complaint against the Tigers' one-time team captain.
The 21-year-old senior was charged in August with sexually assaulting a former tutor. He was kicked off the Missouri team about a week before those felony charges were filed.
In the latest incident, Washington reportedly refused to leave the 23-year-old woman's apartment shortly before 1:30 a.m. Sunday. He was arrested at his apartment 90 minutes later. The woman had a swollen forehead and a bloody nose. Washington told police he had argued with her but denied hitting the woman.
His lawyer did not immediately return a telephone call seeking comment.
