The Sloan Clinic Student Athlete of the Week is designed to recognize those young men and women who epitomize what the definition of student athlete is. He or she may not be the best or most recognized athlete on the team or in the sport but is a great example of someone who has balance between academics and athletics.
| Criteria: |
- Must be High School Senior and playing a varsity level high school sport
- GPA must be 3.0 or higher
- Student must attend high school in the KRCG viewing area (as defined by KRCG)
- Athlete can be nominated by a coach, athletic director, principal or teacher who can provide examples or reasons why the student athlete should be recognized
How it works:
| Local educators nominate student athletes that exceed the above criteria. Students are then picked by KRCG to be named the Student Athlete of the Week. Students are showcased every Thursday night during the sports segment on KRCG 13 and on the connectmidmissouri.com. When the school year comes to a close, KRCG viewers log on to connectmidmissouri.com and vote for two student athletes of the week to win the Sloan Clinic scholarship. |
