COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The Boone County Sheriff's Department Cyber Crimes Task Force is releasing information about a Columbia man arrested for attempted contact with a minor.
Detectives say 27-year-old Shaun Michael Dierker of Columbia initially contacted who he believed to be a 14-year-old Boone County boy on December 11 through e-mail. The supposed boy was actually an undercover detective with the Boone County Sheriff's Department Cyber Crimes Task Force.
Eventually, the conversation moved to cell phone text messaging, and on Saturday, December 15th, Dierker allegedly tried to set up a meeting with the boy at a local fast food restaurant, with the intent of engaging in sexual conduct with the boy thereafter.
When Dierker arrived at the restaurant, he was arrested by dectectives. Authorities also siezed a cell phone and two computers after the arrest.
Dierker was arrested and is being held on suspicion of the attempted enticement of a child, and attempted statutory sodomy in the second degree. There has been no bond set yet.
