(AP) -- NEVADA, Mo. (AP) -- A 72-year-old southwest Missouri man remains in critical condition after a freak crash that killed a restaurant customer and seriously injured two others.

Freeman Hospital spokeswoman Christen Stark in Joplin says the condition of John Becker, of Nevada Mo., hasn't changed since a semitrailer crashed into the Quick Dine Restaurant in Nevada on Friday afternoon.

Joseph Cole, a 54-year-old regular at the diner, was killed while sitting in his normal seat when the truck barreled through a wall.

Investigators say the truck driver couldn't avoid a car that pulled in front of him, hitting both the car and the diner.

Stark says one of Becker's fellow diners who was also badly injured has been released from the hospital.
