An accident involving a car and a tractor trailer resulted in the death of a Jefferson City man Monday.

The highway patrol says a car driven by 40-year-old Jason Wood crossed the center line of Highway 19 in Ralls County just north of the intersection with Highway 154 and struck a tractor trailer head on.

Wood's car then overturned and caught fire.

The truck driver, from Maywood, Mo., was taken to University Hospital with serious injuries.
