A Boone County man has been missing for a year as of this week.

Authorities continue their search for Charlie Bell who disappeared on the morning of September 15, 2011.

A flyer of the missing person still hangs at the entrance of the Boone County Sheriff’s Department.  Bell was last seen riding his motorcycle north of Columbia near Dripping Springs Road.  Detectives don’t think he ran away or was kidnapped.  They do consider him an endangered missing person.

Boone County Sheriff’s Detective Tom O’Sullivan said, “We do periodic searches of various data bases looking for any type of financial activity.  We’ve see no trace of Mr. Bell since around this time last year.”

Detectives also have not see Bell’s 2009 red Ducati motorcycle.  Bell drove it while wearing a red and black jacket.  Boone County sheriff’s detectives said the case of Bell has been very frustrating over the past year.  As time goes on, they are getting fewer tips and fewer leads.

Detectives know Bell was running some in errands in the Columbia area just before he disappeared.

O’Sullivan said, “We did verify that his cell phone was used somewhere in the Rocheport area.  We also checked that area with helicopters.  The family has done a number of ground searches.  We have just not found any trace of Mr. Bell.”

The family of the construction worker is offering $50,000 to anyone who can find Charles Bell.
