Akin in campaigns in Mid-Missouri

Bolstered by new polls that suggest a even race for the U.S. Senate, Missouri Congressman Todd Akin is back on the campaign trail.
At a Pachyderm Club luncheon in Columbia, the Republican blasted incumbent Democrat Claire McCaskill for siding with President Obama, and said he would never run away from his pro-life stance on abortion.
Akin said, "Take a look at where people are on the Second Amendment, where are they on Obamacare, where are they on the stimulus bill. And if you take a look at the contrast it is a stark difference I believe I represent the common sense people of Missouri and I believe Claire is out of touch with the state."
Akin also told reporters he will have enough money for an aggressive campaign all the way to November.
Some ad contracts did expire this week, but Akin's people have paid for additional ad time on several television stations.
