A man was hit by a bullet in the leg
COLUMBIA, MO. -- Two men used a delivery driver in an attempt to enter an apartment on Sunday night.
A man and woman had ordered food from a local restaurant. After it arrived, they noticed that their order was incomplete, so they called the restaurant to have the rest delivered.
When the delivery driver returned, two men with bandannas covering their faces were in the stairwell. One, armed with a handgun, motioned the driver to the door of the apartment.
After the driver knocked on the door, the man inside the apartment stepped outside and immediately noticed both masked suspects. He quickly stepped back inside the apartment to shut and lock the door.
The masked men fired four rounds, with three passing through the door and the fourth hitting the door frame.
The man in the apartment was hit by a bullet in the right inner thigh area, but was not transported to a hospital.
The shooters ran and came across two men in the parking lot, with one of the masked men firing twice.
The two men in the parking lot weren't injured and the shooters ran from the scene.
Officers were dispatched to the 2300 block of Parker Street at 10:35 p.m.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Department K9 assisted in tracking the men, but was unsuccessful.
