Organizers of the annual Show-Me State Games said this year’s events were a huge success.

Sunday was the last day of the largest state Olympic style games in the country.

Despite the recent hot temperatures, Show-Me State Games officials said they attracted thousands of athletes, family members and volunteers.

The Columbia event is a big boost to the local economy.

Columbia Convention and Visitors Bureau officials said the games increase local spending throughout the entire Mid-Missouri area while generating local sales taxes.
