Boil advisory in effect for Catherine Dr., surrounding area

The boil advisory has been lifted. According to the Consolidated Public Water Supply District No. 1 in Boone County, residents no longer need to boil their water. The water main damaged by a contractor has been repaired and disinfected.

Columbia, Mo. -- A water main break has occurred on Catherine Drive in Rock Bridge Estates.
About 120 Consolidated Public Water Supply District No. 1 customers are affected. These include residents on Tony Street, Tony Circle, Catherine Drive E, Chris Drive E and Mont Street, as well as Apple Day Care School and Rock Bridge Animal Hospital.
A precautionary boil water advisory is in effect for 48 hours.
- Boil water for 3 minutes before use. Use only boiled water for drinking, brushing teeth, diluting fruit juices and all other food prep or consumption.
- Don't use ice from an automatic ice maker or any ice made from water that has not been boiled. Buy ice or use boiled water to make ice.
- Disinfect dishes and other food contact surfaces by immersion for at least one minute in boiled tap water that has one teaspoon of unscented household bleach per gallon of water.
- Let water cool before drinking.
Water used for hand washing or bathing generally doesn't require boiling.
