Three people were taken to the hospital Saturday night, after two-car crash on US 54.

Troopers say that Glen  Plate of Oskaloosa, Iowa was traveling south on Heritage Highway, when he failed to stop at a stop sign, and crossed westbound US 54,  directly into the path of driver Patricia Watts.Watts's Jeep hit Plate's van on the driver's side door.

Plates and his passenger, Charlotte Plates, were flown to University Hospital in Columbia with serious injuries. Watts was taken by ambulance to St, Mary's with minor injuries.

The crash tied up US 54 to just one lane for awhile after the accident happened.

The Highway Patrol is still investigating the crash.
