Hundreds of people turned out for the 5th Annual Mid-American Harley Davidson Wingstock.

The event is a fundraiser for the Central Missouri Honor Flight.

The Honor Flight provides veterans with free trips to war memorials in Washington D.C.

More than 20 vendors sold bar-be-q chicken wings at Wingstock while live bands played on a center stage.

Organizers said the event gives people a chance to honor veterans who risked their lives for our freedom.

Honor Flight spokeswoman Mary Paulsell said, “These are great amateur and professional bar-be-quers cooking up chicken wings.  It’s a lot of fun.  There are a lot of prizes and competitions.  There’s great entertainment.  Everything is done in honor of our veterans and helps us get them on their mission to Washington.”

The Central Missouri Honor Flight’s 19th flight is coming up on Tuesday, July 3.

Organizers urge everyone to greet the veterans when they return to Columbia’s Courtyard Marriot at 12:45 a.m. on the morning of the 4th of July.
