Christina White was given a sentence by a Laclede County judge yesterday.

White's punsihment is 25-years in prison.

The 28-year-olds sentencing comes about 3-months after she entered an alford plea to a first-degree murder charge.

Original Story:

An Iberia woman has entered an Alford plea to setting fire to her baby's crib.

Christina White, 28, admitted prosecutors have enough evidence to convict her of second-degree murder, first-degree arson and child endangerment.

H
er son, 7-month-old Wayne Anderson, Junior, was burned and later died in the fire, which happened in August of 2007.

W
hite remains in custody while the court completes a pre-sentence investigation.

Prosecutors originally charged her with first-degree murder. But earlier this year, a judge ruled she could not face the death penalty if convicted on that charge because psychological tests showed she is mentally handicapped with a low IQ.
