There was a fire rescue early this morning in Jefferson City.

The report is still incomplete, but firefighters were called to an apartment shortly before 4 o'clock this morning in the 1700 Block of Tanner Bridge Road.

A resident was reported to be trapped in her bedroom after escaping a kitchen fire.

Firefighters managed to put out the fire and lead the woman to safety.
