JEFFERSON CITY -- A Cole County judge set a trial date for a former Jefferson City police officer charged with driving while intoxicated and leaving the scene of an accident.
Rachel Barnard was scheduled to be arraigned Friday morning, but instead, her lawyer waived it.
Now Barnard has a trial date set for Thursday, June 21st at 1:30 p.m.
Barnard was arrested back in October of last year after she allegedly crashed her car into a parked vehicle in front of her house on tanner bridge road.
Court documents say Barnard then drove off and ditched her car.
Cole county deputies later found the off-duty police officer inside her home with her car keys.
Barnard refused a field sobriety test the night of the crash but agreed to a breathalyzer which showed her blood alcohol content to be at 0.20 percent.
Barnard is faces three counts.
The DWI charge is a Class B misdemeanor.
Leaving the scene is a Class A misdemeanor.
There is an additional Class A misdemeanor charge for reckless driving.
