Three arrested after attempted copper wire theft

Three Jefferson City residents were arrested after an attempted copper wire theft.
Monday, Jefferson City Police responded to the 200 block of Olive Street for a burglary in progress call. The caller said two suspects entered a vacant home through a window.
When officers arrived, the suspects fled. Officers followed on foot. After a brief chase, officers caught both suspects, along with a third suspect who tried to hide of the suspects.
A 20 year old arrested for 2nd degree burglary and felony resisting arrest. An 18 year old was arrested for 2nd degree burglary and felony resisting arrest. A 17 year old was arrested for felony hindering prosecution.
No one was hurt during the pursuit. Officers said the suspects entered the home to steal copper wire, but were unable to do so prior to fleeing.
