Dump truck hits pick-up killing a man on Hwy 63

The Highway Patrol's online crash records indicated 55-year-old Stanton L. Garr was killed in the wreck on Highway 63.
The Rothville, MO man was killed Wednesday afternoon when he pulled onto the highway in the path of a dump truck.

A man was killed Wednesday afternoon when he drove his pick-up into the path of a dump truck north of Columbia on Highway 63.
It happened about 12:30pm at the Hinton cross-over, at Calvert Hill Road.
The highway patrol confirms the dump truck driver, going southbound, hit the pick-up broadside.
The dump truck driver was not seriously injured.
The highway patrol has not released information about man who died pending notification of his family.
The intersection, which was wet at the time of the accident, has been the scene of many crashes in the past.
It is marked with flashing yellow lights that warn when a vehicle approaches the intersection from the east or west.
