A Huntsville man pleaded guilty on Wednesday in Randolph County Circuit Court to child pornography charges.
The investigation into Ralph Edward Woods, Jr., 41, of Huntsville began in May 2011. Investigators from the Boone County Sheriff's Department Cyber Crimes Task Force got information that child pornography was being offered or distribution from a Randolph County resident.
Authorities said Woods transferred child pornography to a task force investigator on two separate occasions.
The Cyber Crimes Task Force and Randolph County Sheriff's Office searched the home on June 27, 2011. They took computers and electronic media during the search and found more than 100 child pornography files including photos and videos.
The Randolph County Prosecuting Attorney's office filed charges against Woods on Jan. 17. He was arrested two days later. On Wednesday, he pleaded guilty to charges of possession of child pornography and promoting child pornography. His sentencing will be March 22 in Randolph County Circuit Court.
