Firefighters battle blaze at Jefferson City home

Update: 3:40 p.m. Feb. 7:
The Jefferson City Fire Department is releasing additional information about the structure fire at 422 Oberman Place.
Firefighters arriving around 11 a.m. found heavy smoke near the front of the single story home. Firefighters fought the blaze from inside the home. They determined residents were not at home at the time of the fire; however, four dogs were inside the home. One was revived by firefighters using oxygen and was given to the family for care.
The fire was brought under control in 10 minutes but firefighters remained on scene investigating.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation and firefighters are not ruling out an electrical fire. No one was injured in the fire. The home was a total loss.

Firefighters battled a home on fire in Jefferson City on Tuesday.
The home on Oberman Place near Jackson Street had extensive damage from the flames. There were two dogs inside the house, but both got out and are alive.
Authorities have not identified the owners of the house and don't know the cause yet.
