Deputies find heroin and stolen property, serveral arrested

The Cole County Prosecutor has charged three men in connection with a burglary investigation that also turned up drugs.

Cheswick Cheatham, Ardaris Cheatham and Douglas Wright are all facing 1st degree burglary charges. Ardaris Cheatham also faces a marijuana possession charge and Wright is charged with attempting to distribute a controlled substance.

The Cole County Sheriff’s Department arrested several people after a burglary investigation turned up stolen property and drugs.

Cole County Sheriff Greg White said Callaway and Cole County deputies found several TVs, firearms, computers and other electronic devices at a residence in the Evergreen Apartments in Callaway County.

After further investigation, deputies found more stolen property at a residence in the 400 block of Hi-View in Cole County.  Eight additional firearms were recovered from a vehicle.  Deputies also found computers, firearms, jewelry and other electronic devices. 

The search in Cole County led to the discovery of a large amount of heroin. The heroin was individually packaged into 100 doses, with an estimated street value of $2,500.00.

Burglary and drug charges are pending. No names have been released.
