Two people in Columbia were seriously burnt late Tuesday night at a homeless camp north of Vandiver Road.

The Columbia Fire Department said that it appears the two people were in a tent in a wooded area when the tent caught fire.

The tent was destroyed by the fire and the two individuals sustained serious burns.

They were both taken to the University hospital in Columbia.

The Columbia fire department is still investigating what caused the fire.
