 Columbia man remains in critical condition after he crashed into a snowplow and then got hit by two vehicles as he walked away from the wreck.

Universiry Hospital officials said 31-year-old Cory Speaks was in critical condition Monday morning.

The accident happened Thursday on U.S. 63 near Finger Lakes State Park in Boone County.

A Columbia man is in the hospital after crashing his car into a snowplow, then being hit by two vehicles while walking away from the wreck.

The Columbia Daily Tribune reports 31-year-old Cory Speaks was in critical condition Friday at University Hospital.

The sequence of accidents began around 4:30 a.m. Thursday on U.S. 63, near Finger Lakes State Park in Boone County. The Highway Patrol said Speaks was driving north in the southbound lane when he crashed head-on into a state snowplow.

The patrol says that Speaks was hit by a car about five minutes later while walking along the highway. He was still walking five minutes after that when he was hit by an 18-wheeler.

None of the other drivers was injured, and there were no arrests.
