JEFFERSON CITY -- Friday night restaurants across the country prepared for their biggest night of the year, New Year’s Eve.

Since it falls on a Saturday this year, it makes for a big money making weekend for them.

Many Mid-Missouri restaurants are full with reservations including Madison’s Cafe in Jefferson City.

Owner, Rob Agee said he and his staff are prepared for the large crowds.

"All the guys have been working and preparing since Wednesday and Thursday just for the large number of people we are going to have and we're going to be busy tonight and then we'll be busy again tomorrow night,” Agee said.

Although Madison’s is booked as far as reservations go, Agee said there will be plenty of tables available for walk-in diners.

Agee said New Year’s Eve, Valentine’s Day and Mother's Day are three of the most profitable holidays for the restaurant industry.

We checked with other local restaurants to see if they were completely booked.

CC's City Broiler, along with Addison’s and Sophia’s in Columbia are only taking walk-in diners Saturday night, no reservations.

In Jefferson City Domenico's is only taking walk-ins for dinner.

While O'Donoghue's in the capital city is accepting walk-ins but they said there might be a little bit of a wait.

Another restaurant in the capital city, Alexandro’s, has a couple of openings but the owner said she guessed they will be completely full by Friday night.
