The Salvation Army in Columbia and Jefferson City are still short of their 2011 Red Kettle Campaign goals.

Campaign officials announced Tuesday they still need to raise $82,000 to meet this year’s numbers in Columbia where the campaign goal is $341,000.

In Jefferson City, this year’s goal is $250,000. Their campaign still needs $92,000 to meet that goal.

“Every dollar is critical because we know how much it takes to shelter homeless families, children, seniors and singles, as well as feed and clothe people in extreme need right here in our community,” said Major K. Kendall Mathews, Regional Coordinator.

Campaign organizers said the money raised during the Red Kettle campaign helps local families all year.

Organizers said they are thankful for the donations the campaign has received.

To make a donation, you can drop money into the Red Kettles outside of various businesses around the area. The Red Kettles are out until December 24th. You can also drop off or mail checks to Salvation Army locations.
