SPARKS, OK -- A series of quakes has rattled Oklahoma and nearby states.

The most recent, a 4.0 magnitude struck early Sunday  morning and was centered around 36 miles east of Oklahoma City. That earthquake was not the largest Oklahoma has felt in the last 48 hours, though. A 5.6 magnitude trembler struck at 10:55 p.m. and is the largest in the state's history.

The 5.6 quake was epicentered 44 miles northeast of Oklahoma City and could be felt as far away as Tennessee and Wisconsin. Several Mid-Missouri residents reported feeling the ground shake around 11 p.m.

A third quake struck early Saturday morning and was a 4.7 magnitude.

The Oklahoma State football team had just finished a game with Kansas State in Stillwater when they felt the trembling of the ground. Radio broadcast team members said players could feel the shaking on the ground, but thought it was the fans celebrating in the stands as the Cowboys shut down a comeback attempt by the Wildcats.

There were no immediate reports of serious injuries or major damage, but there were reports of at least one highway buckling as well as cracked buildings.
