More bad economic news has hit the town of Moberly.

The Wilson Trailer Company is cutting 68 jobs from its Moberly and Sioux City locations at the end of the month. A spokesperson for the Sioux City, Iowa based company said about 20 of the layoffs will come from the Moberly location.

The company blames the economy and bad weather in crop-producing states for the layoffs. Wilson sells trailers used in the agriculture industry.

A company spokesperson said the Moberly location layoffs include a “good group of people” and if economic conditions pick back up, these people will be the first to get re-hired.
