(AP) -- A southeast Missouri man is charged in the recent disappearance of a 3-year-old girl.
The Daily Dunklin Democrat reported Saturday that 43-year-old Shawn Morgan is charged with first-degree murder, armed criminal action and tampering with evidence in connection with the disappearance of Breeann Rodriguez.
The child was last seen Aug. 6 in front of her home near Senath, about 200 miles south of St. Louis.
Dunklin County Prosecutor Stephen Sokoloff announced the charges at a news conference Saturday and said Morgan was a neighbor of the child's family and is being held without bond. Morgan is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
It was unclear if Morgan had a lawyer, and a phone listed under his name was disconnected.
Sheriff Bod Holder said the search for the child's body continued Saturday and included area waterways.
