A shooting in Dixon left two men dead on a city street Wednesday evening.

The City Marshal said the shooting happened at 6:30 p.m. outside a home on East 4th Street.

According to authorities, it was a murder-suicide.

Marshal Cliffty Yoakum said the woman who lives at the residence and others who live on the street saw the woman's estranged husband, Gary Wayne Ball, 30, of Dixon, drive up.

According to authorities, when the woman's boyfriend approached the car, Ball shot him in the head. The victim was Theron Parlin, 32, of Colorado Springs, Colo. Witnesses told authorities that Ball then put another clip into the gun and shot himself. He died at the scene.

Parlin had been working as a contractor at Fort Leonard Wood.
