COLUMBIA, MO -- Columbia firefighters were called to 1013 Crump Lane around 2:35 Sunday morning for a residential fire. Flames were shooting through a window when crews arrived on the scene.
The flames were knocked down within about 15 minutes, but one cat died in the fire.
The owner, Steve Bowne and his roommate were awakened by smoke detectors but couldn't put the fire out.
The fire department believes there is about $50,000 worth of damage. The fire is still under investigation.
