COLUMBIA, MO. --
A Columbia woman is in the running to win a trip for 2 to the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Kate Arnold entered a contest to be a royal wedding reporter for CNN.
Arnold’s video has more than 500 views on the CNN iReport website. Arnold entered her video in a contest to win a royal trip to London. If CNN producers chose Arnold’s video, she and guest will fly to London and report on Prince William and Kate Middleton’s wedding day. Kate also hopes her pet Yorkie Veanie gets to go along for the trip.
Arnold said, “I am vying for the CNN iReport. I decided to do a little script to get myself to the royal wedding.”
Arnold’s video has appeared on CNN’s Headline News Channel and on the television show Showbiz Tonight. Arnold knows a lot about cameras because she was the Director of the Missouri Film Commission. She worked with Hollywood filmmakers for more than 12 years.
Dozens of people are trying to be the CNN iReporter for the royal wedding. Arnold has an advantage because she has royal blood in her family.
Not only is she kin to the great Merriweather Lewis of Lewis and Clark fame, her great, great, great, great, great aunt was in the royal family.
A photograph of the late Princess Dianna on her bedroom wall inspires Arnold to do good things everyday. Arnold remembers the splendor and pageantry of Dianna’s wedding on television and she hopes her toast on the internet gets her a front row seat for the latest royal nuptials on Friday, April 29.
CNN Producers will pick a winner of their royal trip contest during the week of April 11.
