COLUMBIA -- Police in Columbia are asking for the public's help in finding three people responsible for a home invasion.

The incident happened just after 5:00 a.m. Tuesday in the 3200 block of Martha Drive in Columbia.

The victim, a 35 year-old female, told police that she heard a knock at her door and answered it because she thought it was one of her friends.

Instead, the woman said two men and one woman pushed open the door, knocking her to the ground. The men then struck the woman several times, dragged her into a bedroom closet and threatened to kill her if she came out, according to the victim.

Police say the home invaders then stole several electronics in the home and the woman's purse and fled in a black SUV.

The suspects are described as two black males and one black female. The victim did not get a good description of all of the suspects, only that one of the men was shorter, around 5'5", weighing about 160 pounds with wavy hair. The victim described the female suspect as 5'1" and approximately 200 pounds.

Police report that the victim had minor injuries.

No arrests have been made and police have not identified any suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers at 573-875-Tips
