ROLLA, Mo. (AP) -- Officials at Missouri University of Science and Technology say total enrollment for the spring semester is 5 percent higher than it was for the same period a year ago.

It's the 10th straight year of growth for Missouri S&T's spring semester enrollment. There were 4,385 students enrolled in the spring semester in 2001, and there are 6,825 students enrolled there now.

Registrar Laura Stoll says that's a 55.6 percent increase for the decade, according to the official spring enrollment census that is taken at the end of the semester's fourth week.

The spring semester at the university began Jan. 10. The official enrollment for the semester is 329 students higher than it was last year for the same period.
