Snow is expected to be steady overnight
JEFFERSON CITY, MO -- Update: Wed. Jan. 19th at 7:45 p.m.:
Columbia Public Schools cancels classes for Thursday because of snow.

MoDOT reports that Interstate 70 across almost the entire state is covered in snow.
Highways 50, 54 and 63 are also covered in snow, according to MoDOT.

Mother Nature kept her promise Wednesday night as moderate snow starting falling as predicted.

KRCG’s WeatherLab predicts that snow will be steady and increasingly heavier after 6 p.m.
Snow is expected to carry on in the overnight hours, eventually tapering off from west to east through the mid-morning hours on Thursday.
Totals from this event look to be between 4-6 inches for most of the viewing area, with higher values possible closer to Kansas City and lower amounts near St. Louis, according to the KRCG WeatherLab.
