Columbia Mayor Bob McDavid says he will ask the city council Monday night for a resolution of support for the city position on the Hinkson Creek TMDL, or total maximum daily load.
The resolution would be forwarded to the EPA.
The city administration, Boone County officials, and the University of Missouri have criticized the proposed program, saying it does not reflect recent improvements in the Hinkson Watershed
The call for a resolution follows comments by Columbia Councilman Paul Sturtz, who said last month he doesn't feel the council has had adequate input into TMDL objections
Mayor McDavid says enforcement of a Hinkson Creek TMDL could cause a county-wide tax increase and the possible displacement of some property owners.
