People have reported another text scam that was sent out Tuesday.
The text is from Central Trust Notice and asks you to call 303-495-5257 to verify funds in your account.
When people call the number, it asks for your credit card number.
Do not give your credit card number.
If you have given out your credit card number, call your bank or your credit card company to put a hold on your account, which will prevent the scammer from stealing your money.
It is good practice for consumers to never give out personal confidential information such as their Social Security Number, account number, credit/debit card number, expiration dates, PINs or passwords to anyone.
Never offer personal or account information over the phone without verifying the caller’s identity.
If you are uncertain of the identity of a caller, hang up and initiate the call yourself to a published or known number of the alleged caller.
Do not call any phone number received in a voice message or email asking for personal information. It could lead you to a phony answering system.
