JEFFERSON CITY, MO. -- In Mid-Missouri, shoppers were out in force Saturday.

Department stores were trying to keep the momentum going by offering deep discounts on everything from clothing and home goods, to electronics.

This year retailers were holding Saturday sales that seemed a lot like Black Friday sales.

But some shoppers found stores less crowded than they had expected.

"They're not as busy today; I was really surprised,” shopper Cindy Wolken said. “I didn't have to wait in lines, I thought there would be quite a bit of return lines but there's not.  I didn't have much of a wait."

While the inside of stores might be a little less crowded, shoppers and retailers alike are gearing up for another big shopping day, Cyber Monday.
